The GDC inspection process consists of three phases that are based upon the
industry best practices. The first phase of the inspection process is called as the
“Punch-Out Inspection”, which identifies the nonconformities of the products
with respect to the specifications approved designs set forth for that product or
drawing and develops a punch-out list of the discrepancies. The QC Manager
identifies the deficiencies and documents the time lines to correct those
deficiencies. The manager does another inspection to verify that the deficiencies have been corrected. The
prime contractor or the owner of the project is notified for the Pre-Final Inspection to conduct, once the
deficiencies have been removed by the concerned people; pre-final inspection is the phase-two of the
quality checking process. The quality control representatives of the owner of the project (Prime Contractor)
conduct the inspection of the entire facility and develops its own Punch-Out list of deficiencies if they find.
This list of the deficiencies it handed over to the GDC quality control manager to get them corrected. Later
on, it is the responsibility of the QCM to get the pre-final inspection deficiency list corrected and intimate
the prime contractor to initiate the Final Inspection, which the third and the last phase of inspection of any
facility. This final inspection of the facility is conducted by the combination of our quality control team and a
prime contractor team collectively. The schedule of third phase inspection (Final Inspection) is fixed by the
Contracting Officer after having reviewed the pre-final inspection report.
